Pop-punk powerhouse, Say Anything, brought their “…Is a Real Boy” anniversary tour to the MGM Music Hall last weekend. Celebrating 20 years of their massively successful debut record, the band is on tour with AJJ and Greet Death to bring an exciting mixed bill to each city.
Chicago-based punk rock icons, Alkaline Trio, rid Boston of its Sunday Scaries at the House of Blues last weekend. The punk veterans are currently on tour celebrating their tenth studio album, Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs, which was released late January on Rise Records. The group is touring North America with co-veterans, Drug Church.
Militarie Gun, one of the hottest bands in punk/alternative, brought their tour package party to the Sinclair in Boston last Thursday. The LA-based band is currently on tour to celebrate the smash success of their debut LP, Life Under the Gun, which was released last June on Loma Vista Recordings.
Toledo emo-turned-indie veterans, Citizen, returned to Boston for the second time this year, this time opting for a more intimate venue, Big Night Live. The band is currently on tour to commemorate their fifth studio album, Calling the Dogs, released in early October on the Boston-based Run For Cover Records, joined by Modern Color and label mates, Narrow Head.
Philadelphia rock pseudo-super group, Slaughter Beach, Dog, returned to Boston for the third time in 2023, this time sizing up to Roadrunner. The band released their fifth studio album, Crying, Laughing, Waving, Smiling in late September on the independent, Philly-based record label, Lame-O Records.
